Peer Review Policy
The journal Integrated Circuits and Embedded Systems adopts a single-blind peer review process, whereby reviewers know the identities of authors, but authors remain unaware of the reviewers’ identities.
All manuscripts submitted to Integrated Circuits and Embedded Systems (including invited manuscripts and special - issue submissions) must undergo a rigorous, thorough and professional peer review via the journal’s system platform prior to acceptance and publication.
Selection of Reviewers
Reviewers are carefully chosen from extensive and diverse research communities worldwide through rigorous and meticulous screening procedures. This selection process not only emphasizes reviewers’ profound expertise and outstanding contributions in their specialized fields but also values their academic ethics, review experience and capacity to maintain impartiality and objectivity.
Execution Process of Peer Review
1. The editorial office first checks whether the manuscript meets the journal’s basic requirements, including paper length, essential components and similarity check results.
2. Manuscripts passing this check proceed to the initial review by the Editor-in-Chief, who decides whether to advance them to the next stage based on the journal’s scope and focus.
3. For manuscripts clearing the Editor-in-Chief’s initial review, the Editor-in-Chief assigns an editorial board member to assess their innovation and research merit based on the topic. Upon passing this assessment, 2–5 reviewers from the same research field conduct peer review. Reviewers’ names and identities remain fully concealed from authors within the journal’s system.
4. The editorial board member, based on valid comments from at least two reviewers, makes a decision to request revision, reject or accept the manuscript.
5. For revision-required manuscripts, authors must revise carefully, submit a revision statement and respond to each reviewer’s comments individually.
Peer Review Timeline
The entire peer review process typically lasts 30-60 days. The editorial office tracks the manuscript review progress in real time to ensure timely completion of reviews and promptly informs authors of reviewers’ comments and handling decisions at every stage.
Peer Review Evaluation Criteria
The journal selects manuscripts primarily based on their innovation and academic value, considering their performance in the following aspects:
(1) Scientific/engineering significance of the research topic;
(2) Understanding and citation of research progress;
(3) Innovation in methods or their applications;
(4) Scientific rigor of methods and arguments;
(5) Reasonableness and credibility of conclusions/results;
(6) Prospects and benefits of engineering applications;
(7) Quality of writing.
